Recently my friend Will Hart (whose incredible Mandarin learning journey was previously documented in this blog and on my podcast) invited me to go on his YouTube channel and chat with him in Chinese. You can check out the video below.

We spoke for 40 minutes about my Chinese learning journey, including overcoming my difficulties with tones and the importance of receiving feedback from native speakers. We also discussed my work organising Chinese learning weekend trips and camps for learners based in Europe with my Mandarin Retreat project.

Making my YouTube debut in Chinese was quite nerve-wracking but I enjoyed it. I also thought it would be a good way to document my progress since I last recorded a podcast in Mandarin nine months ago.

The video was first published a couple of weeks ago on the Chinese social media site Bilibili and has already racked up nearly 10,000 views and 500 likes.
